8 Years

Happy 8 Year Anniversary to us!

"God cares about the little moments of your life because life mostly consists of the 'little moments'; therefore, the character of your marriage will be defined by how you respond and make use of little moments."

We are currently involved in a 10 week marriage class by Paul David Tripp and he shares (video format) from his book "What did you Expect" and it has been eye opening and humbling.  We are striving to take our cues in life from God's Word and not the world.  A major theme has been "I am my greatest marriage problem".  Thinking on that and learning that our marriage problems are most often first problems within our own hearts before they are behavior or communication problems has been a game changer for us.  We have been through a lot together, good and bad.  To think about what the next eight years may have in store for us is exciting.  We will continue to fight for our marriage and love one another all because Christ first loved us.

"For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised." 2 Corinthians 5:14,15

Camping weekend

Growing up camping in the heat of summer in Texas makes me realize how spoiled I am to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and go camping in perfect summer weather (in my opinion of course).  This past weekend we went camping at Albeni Cove Idaho, living it up in the great outdoors.

 We roasted stuff

 We relaxed
We watched the fish and tried to catch some

We played for hours on the beach and ate junk food

 We boated

And sat around enjoying life and one another

I wonder if that's four girls on the hammock or just three?  We will soon find out as the Green's are a few short weeks away from welcoming baby Green #3 to their clan.

And we successfully got worn out!

There's nothing like sleeping in your own bed after a weekend of camping :-)

Kendama Skills

A Kendama is an old traditional Japanese toy that is sure popular here in Spokane, WA.  I'm impressed with how Josiah sticks with this toy and has gotten quite good in my opinion. If interested Wikipedia has some good info on the Kendama. In the meantime here's Josiah doing a few tricks.

This last video just makes me laugh because Gracie's hair is so big and wild it takes up the camera :) haha!

Happy Birthday America!

Josiah Drew a flag

Gracie Wore a Flag

Brian had a HUGE project at work go live yesterday so he has been working alot lately.  They needed to do this over the fourth since the bank was closed that day. For details I'm sure he'd love to tell you more about it. Call him :)
It did work out that he could work from home yesterday so while the girls napped Josiah, Sam and I headed to the pool!

We even had a fun BBQ. Gracie went to bed with a fever and is currently going on a 4 hour nap today.

And the roses are looking so pretty right now!

We sure do miss our family on the holidays.  Love you all!

We love summer

It's been over 100 degrees these past two days in Spokane, WA. Unusual. I'm quite thankful for my little AC window unit about three to four weeks out of the summer and especially thankful for it yesterday and today!

Here's a few of our summer pics. Swim lessons, parks, Baseball game - LOVE SUMMERS in SPOKANE!
