Praying the Scriptures For your Children

"When we ask God to give our children Wisdom and discernment, we aren't just asking him to help them make right choices. We are setting them up for a lifetime of intimacy with Christ, 'in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.'  And the spillover effect from this type of relationship can be invaluable."  Jodi Berndt

Gum Graft Surgery - yuck!

What is gum graft surgery: If your gums are receding due to orthodontia, over brushing, genetics or bad luck, you’re likely to need a gum graft. Basically, they cut tissue off the roof of your mouth (the donor area), cut the gums off around your teeth, peel them down, stitch the donor tissue on and then stitch the gum tissue back over that. *Shiver*  eeek! that is what I just had done for the second time!

The first time I had it done, mom was here to feed me yummy soft healthy foods, but she's not here this time, so it's been popscicles, yogurt, icecream, icecream bars, pretty much anything full of sugar.  Today it really does look like I got punched in the jaw and the swelling seems only to be getting worse....hmmmmm. Brian's in MA all week, so it's just me, the kids and some sweet pain meds to get me through the week!

The past 24 hrs.

Happy 30th Birthday Brian (taken today after his bday) because...

On Brian's actual Birthday he and I were laid up in bed dealing with a serious 24hr. bug!  It all began with a beautiful Valentine's Day.  Our Valentine's Day was lovely, we had homemade Valentine's and Chocolate Gifts and Nana and Grandpa were able to join us for a lovely dinner then they watched our little ones while Brian and I went to a Choclate Tasting Class with some friends.  It was about 2:15am that Brian and I met up in the bathroom realizing we both were feeling like we were about to throw up, Brian took to the toilet first, then I shortly followed :-)  So the morning of his 30th bday he and I laid in bed until about noon! Sweet Nana and Grandpa surprised Josiah with a Valentine Gift, a Percy, for his thomas the train set! So that morning Josiah played with his train set and maybe watched 4 or 5 movies, I can't remember.... :-) And Grace was in her swing for a long time (that's all I remember about her). Brian and I had a couples massage planned for that afternoon and we decided we should still go since we still had a babysitter coming and all and we are SO GLAD we went because it was amazing! It was the perfect day to lay on a table totally relaxed and get our bodies massaged!  Then we came home and dozed in and out of sleep until we put the kids to bed at 7 and joined them. :-)  Rough way to spend his 30th, but praise the Lord we are all feeling 100% better today!

Josiah with his beloved Percy and Thomas Train (thank you again Nana and Grandpa - he LOVES IT!)

Nana and Grandpa also got him his very own book of stickers which has brought on countless hours of fun as well

Can you tell who's teething??

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

My hubby is so sweet! I woke up this morning to a Rose Scavenger hunt in our house :-) Joey enjoyed helping me find my roses.  I'm taking Brian out tonight on a fun date.  And Brian got us a couples massage for tomorrow afternoon! :-) WOW! I'm spoiled rotten, and this is even after I wrecked the door on our Saturn the other night (that story is for another blog) :-)  And tomorrow  Brian turns 30 - I should be spoiling him...

Insane Albertson's Deal

This is a couponers Dream!  And no coupons were really needed to make this happen.  Albertson's is having an amazing deal through ConAgra Foods.  Spend $25.00 get $10.00 back in Catalina's.   So here's the deal you initially must buy 9 Healthy Choice soups and pay $9.00, then you get $10.00 back and your next transactions you use the $10.00 and will continuously get $10.00 back for each transaction.  Albertson's has a great "Hidden Treasures" cheat sheet to make it easy.  So I ended up with all this food (and as you can see TONS of Healthy Choice soup!)  The store did have a box you could donate soup on your way out.  I'm glad Brian and Josiah eat soup for lunch alot of times because they will get their fill of soup this year!  So for all the food you see here I spent $25.65 and actually got $20.00 back to use at Albertson's so essentially it costs $5.65!! :-)  This is $320.00 worth of groceries folks!

I swear I'm not a hoarder!
Here's what I ended up with:
3 Hunts BBQ Sauce, 6 Marie Calendar dinners, 2 Rosarita's Salsa, 5 cans of Chef Boyardee, 2 Wesson Vegetable Oils, 4 Rotels, 8 pudding snack packs, 4 diced Tomatoes, 3 Pams, ready for this.... i think, 74 Cans of Soup!  HAHA

All my receipts!

This is the cheat sheet Albertson's had on hand for you to use while shopping.  YOu could only do 3 transactions at a time, and go drop them off at your car and come back for more :-)  HAHA!

More as of late

Cray 2 year old!!

Snuggled upwith dad ( you can really see Grace's hair turning blond in this one)

My 6 Month old Thumb Sucker!

Grace is 6 months old! She's growing fast but still as roly poly as ever!  She's very content to lie on her back and not move a whole lot. Her favorite thing is to be held by anyone and everyone.  She's still not rolling over yet and doesn't seem to want to try.  Tummy time lasts about 35 seconds most days :-)
She is quite the thumb sucker as well. You'll see in this video she can't seem to go very long without it. :-)

Caught her with her foot in her mouth  and not her thumb for a change!
