Happy 5 Years to Us!

Well, yesterday marked 5 years of marriage to my dear Brian. We were kinda hoping to have a baby by now, but it wasn't so bad because we were actually able to go out on a date and Grandpa and Nana stayed with Josiah.  We went to a little restaurant called Latah Bistro and enjoyed a quiet evening together.  The Lord knew what I needed when he gave me Brian. What a blessing he is to me and Josiah as he works hard and provides for and takes such good care of us.

this is the first picture we ever took together (taken right after he asked me out- Jan. '04)

We're engaged!

We got married!

Enjoyed an amazing Honeymoon!

We had a baby

And here's Us Ulrich's, 5 years later!

2 more days until we meet our little girl.  I think you know what my next post will be :-)

A Reason to Smile :-)

Well, as we continue to wait for this little girl to join us I have to be honest and say I'm not always feeling like smiling these days the heavier I feel, however, I must remind myself how blessed I am and here is just one of the reasons I have to smile.

SkyFest 2010

We spent the day today out at the Fairchild Air Force Base Airshow.  What a fun show it was! It was pretty hot out but Josiah loved seeing the "a-a-a-panes" (a.k.a. "airplanes").  He even got his own airplane souvenir which is currently his new favorite toy.  He was slightly scared at the beginning with the loud noises, but quickly got used to it and even kept his little ear plugs in.

Here are a couple shots (of course mostly of Joey) the planes were to fast for my little camera to capture.  The USAF Thunderbirds performed at the end and were definitely a highlight of the show!

Lessons in Waiting

Well, as I approach my due date, these last few weeks of pregnancy and waiting have been harder than I imagined.  Alot of it has to do with the fact that Josiah was early and that I'v been dilated for 3 weeks, so mentally I just assumed she would be here by now.  People tell me all the time, "At least you know she can't stay in there forever" & "She must not be ready, but she'll come out when she is" & "You should enjoy these last few days of sleep you'll get because soon it will be over".  I know I know I know. I know once she's in my arms I won't even remember what I'm feeling right now and I'll look back on this blog and laugh.  My mom shared Psalm 139:16 with me today and I have found it very comforting as I continue to wait and long to hold this baby!  The Lord knows what day her birthday will be on and soon we will too :-)

Psalm 139: 16
"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

39 weeks pregnant.  At this point all the belly pictures look the same to me :-)  Just one big belly!

Day at Lake Couer d' Alene

I'm trying to fill my days with lot's of activity to get my mind off the waiting game of baby girl's arrival.  So yesterday we spent the day with friends at Lake Couer d' Alene. It's a really beautiful lake with a great beach area that the kids love! Josiah has a great time wading through the water and trying to pick up rocks from the bottom.

I thought this video was cute. By the afternoon Josiah was SO TIRED! He sat on the towel eating a granola bar for a good 20 min. Just staring out into the water.  He slept good that night!

Finally, First Place!

Here they are, the 2010 Champions of the Summer Softball League!  After 3 years of playing and getting 2nd place in the tournament each year (no joke) we finally got 1st place this year!  Brian got invovled in playing with the team through people at his work and we have become good friends with the team after 4 years now!

Grandpa Games

Grandpa makes everything fun.  Here's a short video of Josiah squeaking while Grandpa shakes him.  He really did sound like a squeaker toy, of course I pulled my camera out as the game was coming to an end :-)

Summer Days

We've had some nice hot weather this past week.  It's usually cooler to sit outside in the shade than in our non-air conditioned house, so that's what we do.  We lunch outside...
Play with Daddy outside...
Lunch with Grandpa and Nana outside...
Speaking of Nana and Grandpa, Josiah just loves loves loves them
Grandpa definitely can turn anything into a game.
How fun to have Grandpa and Nana so close to us during these summer days!

All things Girl

Last week some ladies from church got together to throw me a baby shower. I felt very blessed and loved by these women in our church.  My friend Sarah helped throw it and she made this adorable diaper cake (again, sorry for the poor picture quality that is my camera). And below is a sweet gift Lizzy made for baby girl (she is so talented!!) It's very fun to have a closet full of pink,
ruffles and bows :-)  Already sister's clothes take up more space than brothers :-)  I guess that's to be expected with little girls.
We pray Jeremiah 17:7,8 over our little girls life as we are getting very anxious to meet her one of these days.
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.  He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.  It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.  It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

A Boy and his Dog

The "video" button on my blog showed up, so I'm going to take advantage of it and upload another cute video.  One of my favorite things Josiah does right now is walk the dog.  Martin is such a good dog and patiently allows Josiah to walk him around even if it means walking with him while he rides his car... They are too cute together and have become great friends as Josiah walks Martin around the neighborhood on a daily basis.

now it's just a waiting game...

Well, I'm still pregnant. 14 days to go!  I keep having these contractions especially at night and I always go to bed thinking, "OK this could be the night, and then I wake up in the morning and realize it wasn't the night."  So in the meantime I'v been spending alot of time laying by Josiah's kiddie pool reading this really great book. It's called "The Power of One" by  Bryce Courtenay.  It's been very warm here lately (but I'm not complaining, I'll save the complaining for the cold winter months).  So since there's no pictures of a new baby to share, I'll share a video of my old baby.  This was on Fourth of July while we were waiting for the fireworks to start.

Toes painted? Check.

So this past week I spent a day pampering myself with my wonderful friend Johanna who is also pregnant and due a month after me.  Can I just say, her and I got more comments and attention walking around town than I'v ever gotten in my whole life.  People were drawn to our big bellies and had to comment on the fact that it was so cute how we were both waddling around pregnant! Our day started out with pedicures then a lovely soup, salad and bread stick lunch at The Olive Garden followed by the ever entertaining Twighlight Saga Eclipse movie (we're big fans, Go Team Edward!).  Then we shopped a bit and ended our day at an amazing French restaurant downtown.  Talk about fun and relaxing.  I realized my toes are painted, feet look pretty, it must be time to go into labor right?

I'm currently down to 23 days until the official due date. Went to the doc yesterday and the baby weighs approx. 6.5 lbs.  Her head is down, I'm dilated at a 2. We're ready to go when she is!

Fun in the Sun!

Well, we at least had one day this week where it was warm enough to pull out the swimming pool. Josiah loved it of course and made sure to throw every ball he could find into the little pool.  This pool is just a bit smaller than the pool at Christie's which makes getting things out of the pool that he throws in alot easier!  The little dog in the background is our neighbors sweet Mini GoldenDoodle puppy named Quigley.  Martin and him are going to be great friends one of these days!

Here's to summer!!!!
