A Once in a Lifetime Experience

Princess Diana's wedding dress and other items of hers are currently on tour throughout the U.S. and what are the odds they are in Kansas City the week of the Royal Wedding!  It definitely made for a fun early morning outing.  They had a free viewing of her dress from 3am-6am and of course the wedding was being broadcast.  It was really fun to experience it with a crowd from Kansas and of course mom, Amanda and Princess Rori joined us too!

Sorry no photography was allowed inside, but there's a good pic from the internet below of her dress.
  (that's what we saw ;-)

Then it was definitely time to get some breakfast.  Even though we are dragging slightly and have been tired today it was a special memory and I'm so thankful I got to enjoy it with these lovely ladies!

April Snow Storms bring...

What do April Snow Showers bring? disbelief, disapointment, shock, surprise.... waking up to snow like this makes me wonder how the characters in Narnia felt when it was winter year around! It actually makes me thankful that I'm heading to Kansas tomorrow! We're packing up today so see you later Spokane! Maybe spring will be here when we return.  See you tomorrow Grandaddy and Yiayia!

He wanted to make a snowman and I am against snowmen being built in April (unless we are in a ski condo somewhere vacationing) :-)

What Did I Do Today

What Did I Do Today
Author Unknown

Today I left some dishes dirty,
The bed got made around 3:30.
The diapers soaked a little longer,
The odor grew a little stronger.
The crumbs I spilled the day before
are staring at me from the floor.
The fingerprints there on the wall
Will likely be there still next fall.
The dirty streaks on those windowpanes
Will still be there next time it rains.
Shame on you, you sit and say,
Just what did you do today?

I held a baby till she slept,
I held a toddler while he wept,
I played a game of hide and seek,
I squeezed a toy so it would squeak.
I pulled a wagon, sang a song,
Taught a child right from wrong.
What did I do this whole day through?
Not much that shows, I guess that's true.
Unless you think that what I've done,
Might be important to someone
With deep blue eyes and soft blond hair,
If that is true...I've done my share.

Birthday Message to Auntie Kelli

Today is Auntie Kelli's Birthday! It's been years since I'v been able to celebrate my siblings birthdays with them. I don't like that, but at least we have blogs, emails, texts and skype.  We love you Auntie Kelli! We hope you have a very special Birthday.  If we lived close we'd come by and surprise you with a coffee and scone!  Here's a message from Joey. :-)

Some things never Change

Spring time makes me miss Texas and the wild flowers and bluebonnets that bloom so early.  However, you won't find any skiing in Texas in April! Brian and I took advantage of a free ski day at 49 degrees North about an hour away this past Saturday.  The ski mountains are always free the last week they are open and we each had our own skis so our entire ski day cost us $0.75 for the locker we rented - can't beat that!

To my immediate family members, I think you each will appreciate this video the most! (since ya'll grew up skiing with me :-) Some things never change....

The weather was perfect for skiing! it was partly cloudy and there was so much snow still!  We were afraid we'd be skiing on rocks, but i bet this mountain still had at least 2 more good weeks of skiing on it. It was such a fun date! Thanks Nana And Grandpa for watching the babes while we went!

a new low

So Josiah has a "BB" (his beloved white blanket from his Auntie Victor).  I finally said we can no longer take BB with us in the car (in an effort to help him stop sucking his thumb since bb and the thumb go hand in hand).  Auntie Victor got Gracie the same blanket just in pink.  Josiah and Grace sit next to each other in the car.  The other day I turn around and Josiah is holding Grace's BB sucking his Thumb!!!!  I couldn't believe he did that! He likes to hold it a certain way and rub his fingers in it (you can tell in the pictures) and I guess he didn't care that it wasn't his BB, it was close enough.  So now I'm going to limit puting blankets on Grace while driving :-)  HAHA!

I love his Imagination

Currently our silks are being used mostly as "Pirate" gear.  He likes to wear them all at once!
