Rain Rain Go Away
Well, we are going pretty stir crazy around here. I'm trying real hard to not let Josiah watch Pirate Veggie Tales over and over. I'v given in multiple times to food coloring and messy activities and a clean kitchen just to try and enjoy the passing time. I wonder when the sun will come out and dry things out around here.

Spring Snow
This happened last year too in April. I don't know why I'm always surprised and disapointed by it. My sisters kids were swimming in their Florida pool yesterday and we were inside drinking hot cocoa and watching the snow fall. This morning we woke up to a few good inches. Feels like winter will never end around here. It is beautiful to have fresh white powder on everything and if it's going to stay cold around here, we might as well have some pretty snow, right? If only I could say, "Florida here I come!"

Out of Control
The other day I was making a meal for a friend and trying to make one for us as well and of course I'm trying to do this while both kids are awake and wanting to play and interact with me, so I didn't really pay much attention to Grace but opened a drawer of kitchen things for her to play with. I put the meal in the oven to cook and finally stopped and looked around and realized what my kitchen looked like between my, Grace and Josiah busily at work for the last 45 minutes... seriously it was out of control!

March 8th, 2012 - A good day
This Thursday in March has proved to be a good day. I sat out on our deck for over an hour basking in the warmth of the sun while the kids played hard in the backyard with no jackets on! It's amazing to me how some sunshine and warmth can quickly change the mood around here.
And in other exciting news, Gracie wore her first pig tails today! I'm so glad her hair is finally long enough (it was starting to look like a curly mullet in the back)
Josiah's gotten so good on his bike and he fits it way better than last summer.

And because I made such a big deal about Grace wearing pig tails, Josiah insisted on one of his own! oh my!

Funny Story looking back
So last week Brian and I were going to a wedding that had been on the calendar for months and we were looking forward to attending and seeing some good friends we don't get to see very often. We decided to take Gracie girl and leave Josiah with a friend. The friend ended up canceling so we made a last minute decision to take Josiah to the wedding with us that was at 5pm. We get the kids all dressed up and I decide to go all out and even curl my hair (ha- which is a big deal given how I'v been feeling lately). I'm putting my coat on to leave the house and tell Brian the invitation is on the table and he should read it over to make sure he knows where we're going. He looks at me amidst the hustle and bustle of trying to get out of the house and says, "Uh the wedding was at 3pm".
there are no words at this point. We don't really say anything.
I just sort of deflate and spend the rest of the evening on the couch...trying not to think about missing the wedding. Grace looked so cute so I told Brian to try and snap a few shots.

| See me in the background? I have my coat on - we were so close to leaving! |
| she absolutely loved wearing this dress from Aunt Kelli. It's like I could tell she thought she looked pretty in it. She loved playing with the bow and ruffly skirt |

Gospel by JD Greear
Have you ever heard that we should preach the Gospel to ourselves daily? I used to hear that and think ok, great idea. But how? How does the gospel possibly apply to every apect of our lives? This is a GREAT read. JD Greear is entertaining in his writing, but more importantly preaches the Gospel and explains it very clearly and makes it applicable to our daily life. I'm on Chapter 11 this chapter is about what if God doesn't act the way we want Him to when it comes to unanswered prayers. He has a good quote, "God does love to give gifts to His children, and He delights in our successes. But the greatest prosperity is not driving a new car; it is knowing Him and having a life that brings glory to Him...God is glorified when sick people get well, but He's also glorified when sick people die well."Anyhow, that's what I'm currently reading... :-)
