So last week Brian and I were going to a wedding that had been on the calendar for months and we were looking forward to attending and seeing some good friends we don't get to see very often. We decided to take Gracie girl and leave Josiah with a friend. The friend ended up canceling so we made a last minute decision to take Josiah to the wedding with us that was at 5pm. We get the kids all dressed up and I decide to go all out and even curl my hair (ha- which is a big deal given how I'v been feeling lately). I'm putting my coat on to leave the house and tell Brian the invitation is on the table and he should read it over to make sure he knows where we're going. He looks at me amidst the hustle and bustle of trying to get out of the house and says, "Uh the wedding was at 3pm".
there are no words at this point. We don't really say anything.
I just sort of deflate and spend the rest of the evening on the couch...trying not to think about missing the wedding. Grace looked so cute so I told Brian to try and snap a few shots.

| she absolutely loved wearing this dress from Aunt Kelli. It's like I could tell she thought she looked pretty in it. She loved playing with the bow and ruffly skirt |
What a cute sweet smile on that special little girl's face! Wow, would love to give you all a hug. love me
ReplyDeleteOh no! I wasn't expecting that ending! So sorry you missed the celebration with your friends. Glad you can see the humor in it now :) *hugs*
ReplyDeletesuch a bummer!! Gracie looks adorable -there is something about that dress that makes them extra twirly happy to prance about showing off their cuteness. Kenna's old one will fit Kate this summer so maybe we can get the two cousins in a picture in May:)
ReplyDelete(that book looks really good -definitely checking it out. I'm reading one now about simple church planting called 'An Army of Ordinary People' by Felicity Dale that I think you guys would really enjoy.)
