Washington Train Ride

We took a train ride with some friends in Northern washington to see some fall views like this...

here is our crew getting settled onto the train.  We were happy to have a closed car, as there were a few open cars you could ride if you had the appropriate cold weather gear on :-)

We did some exploring after the train ride and stopped at a place we have camped in the past, Lake Sullivan.  We will be going back next summer!

Fall Play

 Do I call it "fall play" or "foul play" that is the question.  We have two large pine trees right by our house and therefore we are spared the fall chore of raking leaves.  Josiah and Grace do not find our lack of fallen leaves quite as fun.    They decide to scoot on over to the neighbors front yard with a beautiful Maple and rake\shovel up leaves into their buckets and come home to dump leaves in our own front yard in order to get started on his leaf collection, so he says...

I couldn't stop them, it was just too fun to watch.  And now we too have fall leaves that need to be raked in our own front yard!

Fall is in the Air

Even though we live in the Evergreen State we still have some very vibrant fall colors to be admired.  Not much raking going on in the neighborhood as of yet, but give it a week or two we are certain to see many people out raking up these loved yet hated beautiful leaves.

Retreat Weekend

This weekend Brian, Josiah, Grace and I had the opportunity to hang out with the college and career group from church and what a fantastic weekend it was!  Hannah stayed home with a friend and it was nice to just have the older two kids.  Retreats are never very restful, but they are loaded with fun and fellowship!  And we had some serious FUN!  Josiah may have had the most fun of anyone as he ventured to do everything that everyone else was doing, including a pretty awesome slide and a zipline! I have to take a moment and brag on this little 4 almost 5 year old.  He was nervous about the zipline, but all it took to get him harnessed up was this phrase from his daddy, "Josiah I'll buy you a new lego set if you go on the zipline!"  haha and he did it, twice! and wanted to keep doing it.

We really are privileged to be a part of these young peoples lives and thankful for the impact they have on us and our kids and we pray this year that we all will continue to learn more about who God is.

 He looked so little flying down that zipline, we called him "fishbait", because he looked like bait on a fishing line :-)

Perfect weather however, the water temperature was at least in the 50's, but that didn't stop anyone from the Polar Bear Plunge!

Weekend at Hayden Lake

We left baby Hannah Bear with Grandpa and Nana for two nights while we took the older two and got away with our friends at their lake cabin.  So fun to have this time away to boat and swim before our weather starts to seriously cool down.
